OF

WINNIE ‘GONIANS

ARTICLE I – Name

The name of this organization shall be the Winnie ‘Gonians Chapter of Winnebago Itasca Travelers (WIT).

ARTICLE II – Colors and Symbols

The colors of the chapter are blue and gold. The emblem of the chapter shall be a stylized motor home in blue and gold, on a white background with gold lettering. The outline of the emblem shall be in the shape of the State of Oregon, bordered in gold.

ARTICLE III – Purposes and Objectives

1. Basic purpose: To promote fellowship, friendship and fun among all members of WIT, to foster and develop recreational, social, and travel opportunities for the enjoyment, pleasure, and use of the member so TIT, and to encourage gatherings and outings on local levels.

2. Objectives: They are to assist in protecting members’ rights as private RV owners, and to sever as a feedback mechanism to Winnebago Industries for the development of new motor homes of high quality.

ARTICLE IV – Membership and Fees

1. Classes of Membership

a. Charter Members – those persons who own a Winnebago Industries’ RV and who joined the chapter prior to 31 December 1980.

b. Regular Members – those persons owning a Winnebago Industries’ RV who have been granted membership after 1 January 1981 and whose dues are current.

c. Honorary Members – those persons who e=were former member and because of age or health sold their motor home and can no longer participate as active member of the chapter. Honorary members may not vote e or be owners of x-brands.

2. Fees

The annual dues for the Winnie ‘Gonians Chapter shall be $15.00 per year, payable on September 1 of each year. Any member not paid up as of September 30th will forfeit their membership in the Winnie’ Gonians Chapter. A part of the dues shall cover a subscription to the monthly newsletter. Honorary members may subscribe to the newsletter for $7.50 each ear. New members joining the chapter after May 1 will pay $5.00 to cover the newsletter and their dues until the end of the fiscal year.

ARTICLE V – Officers

1. Duties of Officers

a. President

1 To lead the membership and coordinate affairs and events.

2 Preside over meetings. Offer recommendations and suggestions for consideration. In case of a tie, casts a vote.

3 Appoints committees as needed and serve as chairman of all except the nominating committee. Committee member serve at the pleasure of the president and may be excused without cause.

4 Insure all provisions of the WIT Bylaws are followed

5 Notifies WIT immediately of nay accident or injure, which occurs during any outing, meeting or rally.

6 Recruits new member for the chapter

7 Talks to dealers and coordinates Show and Tell Program.

8 Encourages members to participate in chapter functions,

9 Works with the Area Representative in his/her areas.

10 Requests certificates of insurance from the WIT Office, if required by campgrounds or fairgrounds

11 Follow up with each officer to be sure all duties are being performed.

b First Vice President

1 Presides over meetings, if the president is absent

2 Assists the president in coordinating affairs and events.

c. Second Vice President

1. Presides over meetings if the president and first vice president are absent.

2. Carries out duties assigned by ;the chapter bylaws

3. Assists the president in coordinating affairs and events.

4. Acts as the chapter membership chairperson.

d. Secretary

1. Keep accurate up-to-date records of the chapter membership. Following the election send a complete roster and list of new officers to the WIT office. A roster is required annually.

2. Records the proceedings of all meetings of the membership and it Executive Board.

3. Requests year patch or birthday patches for club’s 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 35 birthdays. To receive chapter birthday patches, a letter of request and a current roaster must be sent to the WIT office.

4. Submits information on chapter outings and “Who’s Inviting Travelers” to the Chapter News editor. Deadline is always the first of the month proceeding the issue month. For example, if you want information in the March issue, it must be received in the WIT office no later than February 1st.

5. Edits and dispenses the monthly newsletter.

e. Treasurer

1. Receives, safeguards, and keeps accurate the records of all chapter funds in the name of the chapter.

2. Submits written reports on funds at each meeting of the chapter. Gives oral reports to the membership.

3. Distributes funds only for authorized purposes and only in accordance with chapter bylaws.

4. Distributes patches, logos and other related materials.

5. Verifies that all members and applicants for membership are members of WIT.

f. Wagon Master

1. Will explore locations for meeting sites and make suggestions to the chapter on those sites. Will have the power to exercise authority in decision making within the region.

2. Shall execute the duties assigned them by the President and Vice-Presidents.

2. Election of Officers

Officers will be elected at the October meeting, and shall hold office for one year or until their respective successors have been duly elected and installed. The President shall not hold office for more than five consecutive one year terms and must be out for two years before being eligible again. A partial tern shall not count as a term served. The office of Vice President shall be exempt from this and the offices of secretary and treasurer are exempt and may be combined. The office of Wagon Master is also exempt.

3. Vacant Office

If a vacancy occurs in the office of president, the vice-president wall becomes the president for the remainder of the elected president’s term. If a vacancy occurs in any other office, the chapter may elect a successor who shall hold office for the unexpired term.

ARTICLE VI – Committees

1. The board of Directors shall be composed of the current officers and the immediate past president

2. The program Committee shall consist of not less than three members appointed by the President and shall be responsible for programs and entertainment.

3. The Nominating committee shall be appointed by the President and will consist of a chairman and two additional members who shall propose a slate of officers which shall be presented to the Chapter at the annual meeting by the chairman or in his absence by a member of the committee. Other nominations may be presented from the floor at the annual meeting.

4. Committees may be appointed by the President upon approval by the Chapter and shall act for the duration of their assigned task or until the end of the chapter year.

ARTICLE VII – Meetings

1. Regular meetings of the Chapter shall, as far as practical, be held monthly, the day and hour to be fixed by the Chapter. Additional meetings may be held if so decided by the Chapter.

2. Each year the October meeting shall be the meeting at which officers shall be elected, such officers to be installed and take office at the November meeting.

3. Special meetings of the membership may be called by the president or by any three members of the Chapter upon notification to all members of the Chapter.

4. A quorum of the Chapter shall consist of 25% of the membership and at least one Chapter officer.

ARTICLE VIII – Fiscal Year

1. The fiscal year of the Chapter shall begin on 1 October of each year and end the following September 30.

2. At the beginning of the calendar year, Winnebago-Itasca Travelers headquarters will be furnished with a list of new officers and roster of membership.

ARTICLE IX – Bylaws

1. Bylaws may be adopted or amended at any regular meeting.

2. In case of disagreement, Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern on any item not specifically covered by these bylaws.

ARTICLE X – Disciplinary Action

The Board of Directors, in response to a complaint by one or more members, in writing, may consider disciplinary action or revocation of membership in the Chapter for cause. The accused member shall be provided an opportunity to respond to any and all charges. The final decision to revoke membership must be approved by a majority vote of the board. An officer of the Chapter may be removed from office for inappropriate behavior in this. case, the membership as a whole, may vote to remove said officer. A simple majority vote by the legal quorum at t=a duly called meeting of the Chapter is required.

ARTICLE XI – Powers

This Chapter and these bylaws exist and draw their authority from the bylaws of Winnebago Itasca Travelers. These Chapter bylaws may not conflict with the WIT bylaws. If there is a conflict, the WIT bylaws rule.
